Cast for Conservation Events
The Pere Marquette Watershed Council holds the Annual Cast for Conservation© Fly-Fishing Event in mid-July each year. An opportunity of a lifetime, this tournament combines the excitement of fishing a “blue-ribbon trout stream” with a professional fishing guide while contributing to the continued conservation of the watershed.

The event begins Friday with a picnic lunch followed by 6-8 hours of catch and release guided float fishing down the Pere Marquette River ending at midnight. The tournament is based on the number and size of trout caught with any selection of artificial flies during the fishing period. Utilizing the expertise of your professional guide is always encouraged. Results of the tournament are announced along with the award of trophies for the most points (combination of most and largest fish caught) and the largest Brown Trout caught at the Annual Banquet the following evening.
Proceeds from C4C Events are used to continue fish habitat and stream restoration programs in the Pere Marquette Watershed.
